Stop! Blogthief!! A.K.A The 2006 Awards, a la Mezzbian.
Ok so I'm gonna totally be a blogthief here and steal Mez's idea of having awards for this year. Even though the year is not over and I'm sure there's plenty more stuff to be done yet, now's as good a time as any. Might add a few things in as well, just to make mine special.1) Drinking Buddy award: Laura (cos her uni mates aint hardcore enough), Simon (for shamelessly being my drunken singing buddy), Mez (cos if there's alcohol, he's there), Ross (aww, cmon, I couldnt NOT have him there...)
2) Newcomer(s) of the Year: Simon and Tammy - making ASDA bearable
3) High Point of the Year: So many - Laura and Claire coming to Paris to visit me, spending time with Dave in Paris before leaving, seeing Muse at the NEC, Subculture last saturday and all its sordid shenanigans.... lol.
4) Low Point of the Year: Eddies being burnt down, saying goodbye to Juliette in France, being poor generally and having to resort to stacking veg at ASDA....
5) Best Holiday: Ha, the only holidays I had this year were to Download and to York. Both were pretty damn great.
6) Anthem(s) for 2006: Tool - "H", MCR - "Welcome to the Black Parade", Metallica - "Fuel", to name but a few.
7) Biggest Regrets: Not having enough time or money to go visit Jules and Ed and many others during the summer.
8) Best Night Out: Either last saturday at Subbies, or that night in York when we danced like crazy fools to RATM and then sang Bohemian Rhapsody all the way home.
9) Worst Night Out: Definately that time in France when we ended up in a shitty dance club and then the others left Ed and I stranded until 5am when the metros re-opened.
10) Best Relationship: Well Dave obviously...
11) Worst Relationship: If you're counting friendships as relationships I can think of one.. nah we'll leave it.
12) First Gig of the Year: Errrmmm... Less Than Jake, in April, I think...
13) Last Gig of the Year: Tenacious D!!! :D
14) Best Gig of the Year: MUUUSSSEEEE!!!!! Or possibly Metallica @ Download....
15) Best Decision Made: To follow my instincts and make friends with the only sane person from the ASDA interview (hehe Si!), and also to not make friends with the weird chavvy girl with the scraped back hair and tonnes of makeup - good call, that one.
16) Hero of the Year: Well to be honest I think I've been pretty damn cool this year... lol, Dave kept me sane while I was in France. That's pretty heroic.
17) Villain of the Year: Kelly (see aforementioned chavvy girl), Phoebe (who left me and Ed stranded at aforementioned crappy French club), certain other two-faced bitches I dont wish to comment on.
18) Most Commonly Used Phrase: "Really? REALLY?!?", or "GODDAMNIT!" more recently.
19) Best Film: Tenacious D's POD, or Borat.
20) Best Album: Billy Talent II - Go listen to it now!!!
I've skipped half the things Mez put cos I didnt think they were that relevant, and I can think of too many Twats of the Year. Overall this year has been a weird mix of rubbish and absolute shite, with a few good bits thrown in. Let's hope next year is better, or at least, different :S
